Hi!

I am a Ph.D. in Social Memory and Cultural Heritage (Federal University of Pelotas, UFPel), focusing on Bayesian network models to aid in the management and preservation of modern and contemporary textile heritage. I was Fulbright Heritage Science Fellow at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration in the 2023-24 period.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration and engagement with different stakeholders, I am developing tools for understanding and preventing damage in textile objects, while also exploring the social and cultural significance of these objects.

Laís is pronounced “Lah-EEZ” (“Lah” as in “latte”, “EEZ” as in “ease”).
